The Falklands main source of revenue from fishing licences was recognised in a set of stamps depicting diferent aspects of the Fisheries regime. The stamps showed a Short-finned Squid, Stern haul of Whiptailed Hake, Fishery Patrol Vessel Falklands Protector, and Britten-Norman Islander Aerial Surveillance. The 20th Anniversary of the Falkland Islands Fishery was commemorated with a set of six stamps depicting aspects of fishing activity on board the ships, and the fishing vessels themselves. The cover design features the coin issue and Squid jiggers in Stanley Harbour. The three main commercial fisheries in South Georgia waters feature in the South Georgia Fisheries set of stamps. Toothfish – Dissostichus Eleginoides, Icefish – Champsocephalus Gunnari, and Krill – Euphausia Superba. The area is under the protection of the South Georgia Government and the Fishery Patrol Vessel MV Pharos SG.
