Ian Strange designed the Orchids stamps featuring Gavilea australis, Dog Orchid, Chlorea gaudichaudii, and Yellow Orchid. Una Hurst designed the Pale Maiden stamps. The Pale Maiden (Olysnium filifolium) was adopted as the national flower of the Falkland Islands in 2003. This set doubled as the Christmas issue for the same year.
